Job Offer: Heritage animator/Tour guide
Location: Sherbrooke, Borough of Lennoxville
Hours: 35 hours a week
Wage: 12.50 $/h
Duration of employment: June 2 to the end of August 2019
Languages required: Fluent in French and English


Uplands Cultural and Heritage Centre
The Uplands Cultural and Heritage Center is housed in a heritage house in Sherbrooke (Lennoxville).
During the summer season, an English tea service is offered to visitors and tourists. The service is accompanied by historical explanations and anecdotes about this regional tradition (intangible
heritage).


Tasks and responsibilities
• Greet visitors in French and English
• Participate in the English tea service and provide information about this tradition
• Animate guided tours of the Uplands house and educational activities
• Promote Uplands exhibitions and activities
• Operate the debit and credit terminal and handle cash transactions with customers
• Any other related task

Skills and qualities
• Be between 18 and 30 years of age
• Able to speak French and English fluently
• Have experience working with the public or in animation
• Like working in a team
• Be available to work on a weekday and weekend schedule
• Be prepared to wear a period costume provided by Uplands
• Able to perform light physical tasks
• Responsible, punctual, attentive to details and hard working
